Living Room, 2020. Live performance. 15 minutes.
“Living Room” (2020) explores the domestic space as a stage for personal and shared narratives. Conceived for nueBOX’s RE:volve performance series, the work reimagines my living room as a two-dimensional grid. Furniture and decor are represented by cut paper silhouettes colored with marker and pen, their choreographed arrangement mapping out distinct moments in time. A spoken text accompanies these movements, blending matter-of-fact observations with autobiographical asides, collapsing poetry and list-making into a stream-of-consciousness narrative. The performance was adapted into a livestream broadcast from my kitchen table in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
